Re: [Killietalk] Daphnia
I have no idea what species I have - it is the ones that showed up in my
water trough. I just net them out and feed to the fish. There should be no
pathogens if there are no other fish in the water. I just keep the tub far
enough from the street not to get contaminated if they spray for mosquitos.
Also keep away from airborne fertilizer and other such things that might be
toxic to fish. Carolyn (in very pleasant NE Ohio - for now)

Hello Gang!
I have a lot more green water than I would like to in my outside tubs. I
though that may be a good excuse to start a daphnia culture. Which
daphnia species is easiest to keep? Do they all do fine with just green
water? How about temperature?... my backyard can get really HOT!. How do
you clean them before feeding the fish? I mean I do not want any
potential pathogen from the green tubs outside getting inside the fish
room.
thanks,
Pablo
