Subject: [Killietalk] Convention request

All,

I have a killi-friend in Lima who is asking for me to bring eggs of Chromaphysemions when I fly there next month. I told him I would see if someone in the AKA could part with some eggs and I would hand carry them down for him. If any of you can help Cesar out, it would be greatly appreciated. Soon we may be adding Lima and Peru to the list of countries with Killiclubs worldwide! Simply bring them to the convention or alternatively PM me for my address and you can send them to me here. I will be leaving June 14th.

Thanks in advance,

By the way, did you know that Chicago has as many or more cloudy days as
Seattle?

The reputation of the PNW for rainy weather is exaggerated but the Oregonians like it that way. It discourages too many people from moving here. Seriously, it does rain quite a lot in the winter but in summer it is relentlessly sunny. Oregonians think I'm nuts because I often say I wish it would rain occasionally in summer. We probably won't see more than 5 or 6 rainy days between now and October.

For raising mozzies I'd reccomend simply a 5 gal bucket with a stocking
draped over the side with some peels or fishpellets in it. The water will
still turn green/dark and smelly...but it will be without muck. Then harvest
the mozzies/rafts at your pleasure.

To reset the culture to prevent from adding to the mosquito
population....harvest what you can and then pour a pot of boiling/scalding
water in. That will kill any that might otherwise become mosquitoes and
also release more of what is in the stocking into the water.
