Diane, I've got a 3/4"/1/2" pvc feed line to my tanks and I tapped the pipe and installed 1/8" brass barb fittings in occaisionally.? I run regular airline tubing from that to gang valve and then to the tanks.? Works great for me.? I've got about 65 or so filters running this way and there is air to spare.? I've heard many say to use 1' pvc or larger but mine works fine with the smaller pipe.? Hope that helps.

I am replacing my individual tank filters with an air system. I've been impressed by the quietness of the linear piston pumps like those from Jehmco when in other people's fishrooms, so settled on one of those.?

Then there are the fittings: I've been told that I would be best off with a PVC manifold with air valves for individual tanks running from the manifold. My tanks are in my living room, and I'm not inclined to put a bunch of PVC pipe out there if it is not absolutely necessary. The 9-10 individual tanks are from 3 to 15 feet from where I will put the pump; and the tanks vary in size, from 3 to 29 gallons, so i was anticipating different flow rates for different tanks (2 sponges apiece for the 29G, 1 sponge for the 3, 5, 10, and 12G tanks).?

What I've done with my CO2 system is simple gang valves in series, with parallel tubing for the sets of tanks on a vertical rack, and serially connected between the racks.?

Is there a happy alternative for the air system that won't require 12 or more tubes from a single manifold running a dozen feet to the target tanks or pvc pipe lining the baseboards??
