[Killietalk] Invasive Species Legislation

First off, sorry about the weird post a couple of minutes ago. Wrong button.

Now, about this Invasive Species Legislation. while reading the proposal a
thought came to me. What about virus's, bacteria, and other miscellaneous
'things' that persons inadvertently bring back into the country? I see no
clause for the "but I didn't know" defense. How could the government
enforce this without some mandatory "quarantine time"? We all know some
of the worst threats are those we cannot see. Can you 'see' Bird Flu?
How about Mad Cow?

And what about all that unregulated water that is allowed to enter the USA
uninspected and unregulated. The Niagara, and Columbia come immediately
to mind, however I would guess there are many more if a diligent search
were performed. I know of beaver ponds that straddle the boarder between
the USA and Canada. Would those beaver be subject to quarantine. I
should think so at least under the fair and equitable rules that would
cause human quarantines.

I think it just hit me. Now I understand how the present government is
going to get everybody employed and the country moving again.

I know this is kind of flip, but my pain meds are working overtime today.
