Aaron,

  Please don't let the folks who enjoy stirring the pot disuade you from 
the benefits and joy of keeping killies.  Even some of the "rudest" folk 
actually are fun to get together with at conventions and shows and alot of 
the comments are meant as much in jest as to get a rise out of someone. 
When it gets too silly, I just tune them out like some men do to wives :D . 
If you get a chance - find time to get to a place where you can meet killie 
keepers and you will find them to be some of the biggest hearted hobbyists 
you could ever ask for.
