I keep posting because I see this as a universal solution for affiliate and
international clubs...moreover, being a lil more far sighted: the potential
for bringing us to together as a larger national and international community
is obvious...

"live"+ "auction"+ "portal" AND "live"+ "auction"+ "software"...keyword
searches in google yielded several viable solutions...

A nominal review of the hits broke down the solutions into a couple
categories:

-Software that manages auctions
-software that integrates live auctions with remote proxy bidders
-Live auction portals (which thence again are divided into 2 types from:
"full hands off" ---> "more user managed")

Almost all feature contactee opt in email list, user managed permissions,
pre-pays, proxy bids, et et

Obviously the price roughly follows the above list's order...but either way,
the basis for most fears and objections perceived here are almost moot using
the above solutions...

Pricing is varied as are pricing models:
-some is rented/licenced per use or per time period
-Some solutions must be purchased/licenced out right
-some solution grab a percentage per item (upwards 3.5%)

Off the cuff, the pricing hurdles vs. usage frequency would require a shared
cost (or cooperation & sharing amongst affiliate clubs or purchase by the
national org) .... being pessimistic, that alone almost kills the idea
