Re: [Killietalk] Virtual Events, Proxy bidding in late March
Odd we got virtually the same idea 2 minutes apart (mine was 1st naturally)
with just a modicum of thought (and we both are pretty stupid depending on
who you ask)...;-0
Imagine what a person of even greater intelligence (like from Oregon or
Washington) like could think of!!! <LOL>

Guys;
How about the Stock Market Day traders.. The stock market runs
at hyper speeds, yet people regularly trade in real time looking for
1/16th of a point increase in market price. And if that ain't leading
edge I don't know what is... Maybe the webcam thing is a little out
there but live real time auction bidding could be done through a
convention web site. Just post the auction fish list 4 or 5 items in
advance so some pre-bidding could take place and then let it
roll.. To ensure you don't get scammed charge an up-front auction
entry price, say $20. that would go to the sponsoring club to pay
for the extra effort that they would have to put in or give it
to the AKA in the case of the convention.. Work 2 or 3 laptops to
handle the incoming bids, you could even post them on a good size
monitor so everyone could see the on-line action.. iI would think
that this could enhance the AKA coffers quite nicely with not a whole
lot of work.. Think about it, don't dismiss it out of hand !
Larry in comfortable Corpus Christi who won't be.
