[Killietalk] Lab idea around 'remote bidders'
I think Barry's made it pretty clear, if "you" want to try this out at this year's AKA, go ahead, however the host club won't be able to help you with the logistics. I'd suggest trying it out in a smaller show first and work through the kinks to understand just how well the services you're going to rely on hold up.
And if you're gabbing on the cell phone while I'm trying to auciton a pair of fish, be prepared to duck thrown objects.
As for prices on fish at this convention and empty seats, as the auctioneer,I'm not too worried.
There's a lot of interest in the convention, we should be getting strong local support and attendance, too, and the auction goes fast. In fact, I've already been asked to not go "too fast", so I'll keep it to no more than 75 pairs per hour :-) We have a fixed-ish amount of time for the auction because we have the sidewheeler trip afterwards, so it will be speedy.
Matt
