Re: [Killietalk] Killifish names

I've seen a couple pics of the new Bidou "red"...definitely looks different
than either the Bidou I got or the Limbe;
I don't think any photographic variables or mood changes could make my fish
look all that similar to it...the Baroi Bidou I have is usually flushed with
a bright reflective green body w/no vertical barring in normal mood,
orange-ish fins;
...the Limbe has vertical bars normally shown, chartreuse fins...both fish's
males reach 4" easy

Subject: [Killietalk] Killifish names

hi guys, just picked up some killies from one of my local shops and wanted
to clarify some names since I'm not firmiliar with a couple of them.  These
were all purchased through Atlantis.

The first one was labeled Epiplatys sp. Bidou red.   from what I can see
this is probably a trade name for Epiplatys infrafasciatus 'bidou' and they
do look like the photos I've found of that fish.  Anyone else found this?

The second I'm somewhat firmiliar with but wanted to be sure on the
location.  They were marked Procatopus similis myuka.  It appears that
should be muyuka, right?

The third appears to be the right name but wanted to know if anyone can tell
me any more about them or if their name has changed.  They are marked
Simpsonichthys sp. urucuia.   I havn't kept but one south american annual
and didn't have much luck with them (I forget what they were too).   Have
these fish been described yet?  Any ideas what they are close to?   Spawning
results?  Incubation times?  etc..

thanks for any advice, I wasn't expecting to find these fish in the shop
when I went in.  Kind of nice to see some killies given a chance in an LFS
around here..   Kyle
