Re: [Killietalk] Feeding Blackworms

...I recall following a blkworm thread maybe 5-6 yrs ago here on KT about
blk worms...back then I bought worms in smaller amt's and with trepidation
as I'd loose the occasional fish (1-2 per 100 <maybe>)....memories and
association with the ole "tubifex worms" probably had me suspecting the
blkworms as the culprits(as a few here did also)

...but now, since better ideas and methods have been exchanged here, I'm
guessing hardly anyone has those types of losses anymore...we all now know a
lil better: keep em clean and cut up prior to feeding

Previously; that $40ish bucks for a pound seemed a lil frivolous at 1st for
just feeding fish. But now that I can keep larger qty's alive w/o all the
bother, I see the increase in eggs make it a pretty good investment; all
things considered, and anymore I get in larger qty's at once to lower
cost...
...these msg boards are a gem, and this one in particular seems to get the
more cutting edge ideas 1st

I use a 5 gal sterilite bin with one airstone on the floor of my 72
degree fishroom. Water change daily for 3 days, then every 2-3 days
after. 4-6" of water. 1 lb lasts 3 weeks without feeding them. They
don't need to be cold, just well oxygenated and cleanish.
