Brian,

I want to ask you to be careful about not having your emails appear to be advertising and promoting your new business. You need to walk a fine line. It would be best to just make them progress reports without too much reference to the business side of it. By all means emphasize that you will be providing fish for the convention and for N&R.

The reason I'm saying this is that I have already received a complaint that we are not enforcing the prohibition against commercial advertising on killietalk. There is a component of bad feeling still existing regarding your N&R days, in particular whatever went wrong at the Florida convention. I never did get to know why the N&R fish didn't turn up there.

Anyway, take this as advice from a friend, please. Given my role, I have to walk a fine line too.

Barry

Hi Jim,

See my note to Mr. Pinto re: the Northern Rivs.
All,

I am mainly focusing on exporting Killies this trip, since my clients are focused on Rivs. (mostly) however I keep notes of every stream I encounter and it´s contents. I am looking for new Apistos, Plecos, Corys. and so on while I am on this particular Killi-hunt. We will be collecting at an area that has never been sampled yet :O) Which is always exciting and it is a huge area with many streams and habitats, so there is a very good chance it will take several trips like this to start understanding it´s contents fully. While we have gotten some spectacular weather the last week or so, I am told over- all it´s been rather dry this year, I am hoping that we find consistent success. Today was a washout literally for collecting here, the rain has turned many roads, including the one I was to take to collect Moemas, a muddy mess, so tomorrow we will try again this time by river......

When I return to the states, I will post as to how well we did, so that you have a clear idea of what will be made available in P-town for the convention. When I return here after the convention, I will then start making an effort in supporting Jack more fully.
Best,

Brian Perkins

Hi Brian,
Any chance of collecting Rivulus rectocaudatus or Rivulus speciosus on your trip? Will you have a list of all the killies for the N & R ?
 Thanks,
Jim
