Just a FYI on the illness
Actually C. Diff  or Clostridium difficile  Same genus as tetanus and 
botulism.
Gram +, rods, anaerobic, endospore forming bacteria.

There is a good chance He actually got the illness in the hospital or Dr. 
office.

It  causes dysentary and is treated with the Antibiotic Metronidazole.

OH and for those that do not know.  Norovirus is rampant in the midwest 
right now.  Causes Nausea vomiting and lots of diarrhea.  Easily spread and 
has a long communicable time (6 weeks post infection)  and very easily could 
have been the start of Al's problems.

I'd think twice before hitting the buffet lines!!
In theory everyone at the resturant washes their hands???????  Transfered by 
fecal matter.
C-diff can be transfered by poor handwashing too!!!  And from our 
resturants!!
