Hi Durward
In my experience, most lfs will give a pretty substantial discount on 5.5 
gal if you buy at least 10 or 12.  Ask them if they will give a discount, 
and at what volume.  After all, they are in the business, and it doesn't 
hurt to mention that you will be in the market for those other items that 
complement the hobby - heaters, filters, etc.
