[Killietalk] New use for duck weed

Hi Killi Nuts,

HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!!!

I scooped up numerous net fulls of duck weed. Some people hate it, some love it. I use it to feed some gold fish. Recently, I put a scoop in a plastic storage container, and then added some grindal worms, and dry kitten food pellets on top of the worms.

After a few days of observation, the worms are congregating on the surface, and acting quite happy with the duck weed and kitten food.

I do know that duckweed takes out certain toxens from the water. So... using the duckweed to raise worms, may provide some re-introduction of the toxens to the fish tanks.

If you have fiddled with raising grindals, you know they can crash suddenly, mostly from lack of air, or overfeeding. However, they really do seem to be happy with the duck weed, either as a bedding, or as food. I will introduce some duck weed into a container of grindals on worm bedding to observe if they eat the duck weed.

I do know they prefer dry kittel food pellets, instead of adult cat food.
