[Killietalk] reptile tank for fish?

Somewhat not specific to killies, other than in the spirit of being frugal, inquisitive fishkeepers that we share...
 
I picked up a barely used 20 gallon long glass 'reptile tank' this weekend, complete with the built-in screen top, and the admonishment 'do not fill with water' printed on a label on the bottom.
 
That's merely a challenge, I think. Can these tanks be converted to safely hold water (and killies?) Or, should I simply cut out the glass and use it for scraps?
