Re: [Killietalk] Killietalk Digest, Vol 60, Issue 55
Amen to Mike J and Bob Goldstein! Yes, I may have just returned to the
club, but seems like people still have to be crotchety about all this. I
won't hide behind some rum moniker, nor come here to complain because I am
bored of reruns on TV or have nothing better to do, I will complain because
people want to come here to moan and groan instead of talk about fish,
breeding fish, and the joys of getting back together after a long time and
comparing notes on how we do things in our fish rooms and so on. What is
important here? No..really...it is a question not a statement. Hasn't
anything changed since I took a break? Stop criticizing unless you are
willing to run for a position in the Association. If you do run and don't
get elected, well maybe you should do some soul searching and ask some
people who speak plainly to tell you why you didn't win the position.
NOW, I will tell you WHAT I SEE!
(Stepping onto soap box)
I was in this club for two years and I think I contributed, and I know I
bred some 75 different varieties from about 40 different species. WOW, let
me tell you, I get back and the beginner's guide is this fantastic, well
organized, color manual that just blew me away. The JAKA is the same way,
wow what a publication! The roster is online and I just downloaded the
excel file! How cool, and so many other IMPROVEMENTS! You want to talk
about the past go ahead, but I prefer living in the now, as it has some
pretty nice amenities with the AKA. You cannot or will not mess with the
computer? No problem then, pay a few (3) extra dollars, get the paper BNL,
ask for a printed roster, and stop, for crying out loud, showing people your
lack of vocabulary by cussing them out, albeit off list.
While I haven't been around him all that much in the last 4 years, since I
have been taking care of human progeny, I have a lot of respect for Mike
Jacobs and what he does and who he is. I don't know about what he has done
for the AKA, except for a couple of years ago when the AKA convention was
back in Tampa, yet again he did a lot for that, but Mike does quite a bit
for Suncoast Killifish Society (an AKA affiliated club), and much of his
efforts unsung from the members of the club, though some do show their
appreciation.
Anyway, I am off the box and out the door, but I am not out of commission in
the least. Good day gentlemen
