Re: [Killietalk] Killietalk Digest, Vol 60, Issue 50
Where exactly are these points explained?
KEY CHARTER
Article I, Definition: In accordance with the provisions below, the AKA
establishes a Killifish Exhibitor of the Year award, to be known as the
Robert Felmey Memorial Award.
An annual award will be given to that person who accumulates the most points
over the course of the fiscal year as enumerated herein. Points shall be
gained in competition in sanctioned events each fiscal year as per Article V
[of the by-laws]. The fiscal year shall begin on May 1st of each year for
all show categories except for the AKA National Convention. Points are not
carried from year to year.
The KEY Award is established to recognize those members who, through their
breeding and exhibiting killifish , have helped to foster the ideals and
aims of the American Killifish Association.
Article II, Sanctioning of Events: Any killifish class in a local show or
convention, is considered sanctioned for the purposes of this award
providing: Using this form a request for sanctioning is made to the KEY
chairman by: a member in good standing of the AKA and; the president, V.P.
or show chairman of the sponsoring organization, and; they both agree to
fulfill the obligations as herein set forth. (One individual singly cannot
fulfill the requirements).
A. The KEY Chairman is notified of the event at least 12 weeks prior to the
event taking place.
B. Mail in entries are permitted and there are at least 7 entries in each
killifish class, with at least 3 entrants.
C. Certified results of the the killifish classes of the show are sent to
the KEY Chairman within 2 weeks after the event is completed.
The official show date for purposes of the fiscal year cut off shall be the
last day of the show.
If the obligations of the sponsors are not fulfilled on a timely basis, the
KEY Chairman should endeavor to get the show results so as not to penalize
good faith entrants. However, this sponsor club is then automatically barred
from running a sanctioned event for the next KEY fiscal year. If a sponsor
(i.e., the AKA member or club president , V.P. or show chairman) has points
for the event, those points will not be allowed because he (they) failed to
report overall results as required.
Article III, Qualifications: Minimum requirements for Killifish Exhibitor of
the Year - regardless of point totals, the following minimum requirements
must be met:
A. The Award candidate must be an AKA member in good standing.
B. The candidate must have had at least one entry in the current year's AKA
Convention to be considered for the Killifish Exhibitor of the Year award.
C. The candidate must have had at least one winner (1st of class) in a
sanctioned event of the current year.
The current chairman of the KEY committee is Keith Cook, kcook at sdgdocs_com

You can get the info you seek by going to the AKA website and log in. Next
