[Killietalk] water height in rearing tank

hey guys,i got 1 more question,i see alot of people say to have the water shallow in the rearing tank,mine is about 3 inches below the top,is there a reason for the low water line,they are in a 2 1/2 gallon rectangle tank,it looks like a tiny version of a 10 gallon.
