Re: [Killietalk] Comparing food sizes and values

The problem with microworms, even if they are very small, as a first food
for fish such as Aphyobranchius fry and also, I suspect, Poro. brichardi
fry, is that the microworms would end up on the bottom of the tank.
Certainly, Ahyobranchius fry will only feed at or very close to the water
surface. Most lampeyes also do not like eating off the base of a tank and
that probably would apply particularly to Poro. brichardi and myersi fry.
With all of these tiny fry it is important to have a bubble lift filter
(such as a small sponge filter) to keep the water moving very slightly and
thereby help to keep the micro-organisms at all levels in the water column
where they can be accessed by the fry.
