Re: [Killietalk] Killietalk Digest, Vol 58, Convention 09

It's not a postal issue with importing eggs from overseas but a customs issue or Fish and Wildlife issue.? Technically you are required to have an import license to bring in more than a certain amount of fish or eggs and it's?a really low number before you have to have the import license.? I don't know the specifics but there are others on the list that do.

Welcome back, Conventioneers. I couldn't make it to this one but next year, it's
held in Portland, OR, right? Only 300 miles West of Clarkston, WA, so I'll se
ya'all then. No airlines necessary, yay!

I will have many rare or unusual non-killies available. Some examples are F1
Peckoltia sp L134, F2 Sturisoma aureum, F1 Corydoras habrosus, F1 TRUE Corydoras
hastatus, F1 Aspidoras pauciradiatus, Betta sp. Mahachi and even some
Simpsonichthys spp. The fish gods willing, I may have F1 wild Blue Discus by
then, too. I bet we can do some wheeling and dealing in a smoke filled hotel
room over a Perfect Margarita or facsimile.

On to a different topic.

I had no problems receiving 50 eggs each of Simpsonichthys constanciae and S.
magnificus from a breeder in Bulgaria. My postman is used to seeing some odd
things I have sent to me but not from Bulgaria? Now that got his attention. You
all know how it is when non-hobbyists learn that there are fish eggs that are
treated more like plant seeds. They are always amazed how we can distribute eggs
around the world by mail.
