Roger, I know you have a few years on me, and that reflects in prices as
well. When I was growing up during the War, gas was 19.9 c and it cost me 12 c to
get into the movies, but keeping this on topic -- Cameronensis (Aphyosemeon
australe) cost $2.50 pr. and Panchax lineatus (Aplochielus lineatus) were $1.50
pr.(Eastern Garden, Flushing NY) during the War. By 1950, A australe were
selling for $5.00 pr and A.lineatus were going for $2.50 pr.(Eastern Gardens),
or $3.00 pr at Aquarium Stock Co. Not much variety back then, although both
establishments offered five or six other common species of that day. Ray Wetzel
