Re: [Killietalk] Black Worm Culture

I had the same thing happen to me. I had a tank with a couple of cory's that
ignored the worms for a long time. The worms started to multiply and I
started to feed them. Then, apparently the cory's developed a taste for the worms
and ate them. The container was a large sweater box on a system with a
sump, and the water was constantly changed, so the worms did fine. I don't have
the extra tank space to devote to just worms, or I would try to culture them.

While I'm not too proud of this I have seem to start a black worm culture in
my pleco tank. I had some extra worms(4 to 6 worms) about 6 weeks ago and
thought I'd give the plecos a try. Well they didn't touch them and it's a tough
tank for me to access so the worms stayed in there. I noticed that they were
still moving abound after several days, then it seemed like there were more
of them now the tank is loaded with them. Has any one had a similar
experience or breed them. Could I be mistaken and have some parasites, they're about 1
1/4" to 2" long and sure seem like black worms to me but this is a first.
I'm thinking of starting to feed them to some of my killies but didn't want to
screw up.
Thanks in advance
Peter
