Re: [Killietalk] Killietalk Digest, Vol 58, New, rare and wild species

The International Anabantoid Assciation had a good arrangement for making rare species available. I don't know what caused this group to fail but maybe it was because they did not have a "gripe" forum.

They say 10% of fisherman catch 90% of the fish and I have always felt that roughly applied to those who raised the most difficult fish.

I can't make it to the convention but I do appreciate the efforts of those who mustered up some of the new, wild or rare fish for most of us to kill.

If some of the rare stock is held back and distributed to top breeders, by whatever method works for the club, they will likely propagate those fish to give them a good start, and everyone wins. The International Anabantoid Association (now I think defunct) did this; it provided fish to breeders in exchange for them sending a good portion of their progeny back to the club for redistribution to the general members who were not yet experienced. - Bob G.-----
