Re: [Killietalk] Annual SA discussion at Syracuse

Hi Curt,

Forgive me for not waiting for the Q&A period, but I have two questions
that I feel may need some prior research to answer at the meeting.

1) Exactly which species has the Brazilian Dept. of Commerce declared
endangered, threatened, etc.?

2) What does our Endangered Species Act of 1973 have to say about our
possession of species that have been declared endangered by the nation
of origin?

IMO, correct answers to those questions should prompt an active lobbying
process by the AKA to get the ESA amended to keep otherwise innocent
hobbyists from being made criminals.

I'm taking a 3-plane red-eye to make that meeting (hence may be only
partially functional). I hope you, Lee, and the other organizers will do
your own checking, in hopes my discouraging research results are all
wrong, and that I'm just being a worry wart.

See you in Syracuse,

Wright
