I think United charges $50 for the 2nd checked piece of luggage these days.

Hello
I'm not sure of the other Airlines but United will let you check boxes of
tropical fish as luggage. I got their service code number for their
customer service desk in India and packaged the fish to the specs. Once I
showed the guy at the desk the service code and asked that they not be x
rayed he took them away for a bit and came back with a bunch of TSA tape on
the box.
Very helpful.
I know Alaska and Delta had problems with this.

Yes Mike. but my past experience with Delta, even if they let you get
by with this they would try to charge you a $50 fee for each
pet! Joe in Al.
