Re: [Killietalk] Law Breaking
Perhaps the AKA does need a lawyer to sort this out as we (the AKA) sometimes, have in the past, shipped fish to foreign conventions. Also we have foreign members listing eggs in the F&E. If I understand what you are saying, these transactions/shipments are illegal. Also, not AKA affiliated, you are saying Aquabid transactions with persons residing outside the US are illegal.
This all sounds very political, thus completely confusing and somewhat ridiculous. I guess most of us are condsidered fish egg smugglers.

Not to be argumentative, but these folks usually have a difficult time knowing what fish are in the bag as well. I can see them refusing it due to identification problems. I geuss we are in for problems in the future. I have seen these F&W folks call barbs tetras and tetras minnows before, but I know that introducing exotic species into our waters is a big problem.

If things have changed, than I might be wrong, but if you get eggs or fish from another country, you have to declare that they are not commercial, are for study or scientific research, and not valued. If you have an invoice with the box that indicates what they are and how much you paid, then you have become commercial and so has the sender. I think that getting eggs or fish from a foriegn club member does not constitute a commercial import. If you order fish from an over seas dealer, you will get into trouble without the import license.
