Re: [Killietalk] Convention Rooms

Has anyone hosting the conventions ever gotten a group number so you could just go to the hotels website and put in the group number and get the convention rate? Seems like an easy way to go.

  Subject: [Killietalk] Convention Rooms

  Hi Folks,

I just got off the phone from the Convention Hotel after receiving a call
from someone attempting to register a handicapped room for the convention
and being told they could not have the convention rate. According to my
contact at the hotel, someone in reservations goofed big time and she was
quite surprised. She has already taken care of this problem and suggested
those with any special needs such as needing a handicapped room call direct
to the hotel at (315) 475-3000 to make their reservations prior to 5:00 pm
EST. Apparently, the way the system works is after that shift, the
reservation system then uses the National Sheraton Reservations Desk and the
people there only make reservations based the room blocks. However, she did
say there was no reason whatsoever a handicapped room should not have been
included as a normal reservation for the convention.
