Re: [Killietalk] Fish room design specialist WANTED for large shop/hatchery
I am not the person you are looking for but has an
idea which I plan to use. Like you I dislike the auto
water change but I want the water change made easy. So
the resavor for the system will be larger than need
be. I want the res to be 1/4 the total water in the
system. I am going to place those large rubbermaid
watering trough over the res with roughly the same
volume. This is so I have time to condition the water
to what I need in each system(I only need 3). So when
I want to change the water I just turn a valve and
drain the res. Close that valve and open the one from
the tank above and refill the res. Water change on a
1000 gallon system will take no longer than 5 minutes
each. Then I can take as long as I need getting the
water chemistry where I want it in the top tank. Like
a RO unit takes time to make soft water to mix with my
tap water or mixing salts into the water for cichlids,
ect...
