Re: [Killietalk] Memory check
The story I heard about the Lucania goodei specimen was that it was
purchased as a young fish at a PetCo or other chain store, and raised in the
constant presence of live glass worms as food. If this story is true, then
the husbandry of the fish was certainly a factor in the fish's appearance.
If memory serves me well, the fish was also much brighter in color than in
Karl's photo. I don't think that it was too big of a surprise that it won
best of show, other then the fact that it was a North American native.

Check my memory I believe that these 3 fish in the last 15?? years won BOS
at the convention & they might have been wild caught.
