Re: [Killietalk] Convention Show - New Rules

On this one I have to disagree.? At the '93 convention, we had a shipment of wild diapterons brought in from Germany, some of the most amazing fish I've ever seen!!!? To this day I still haven't seen any tank raised specimens that compared and we probably had 20 pairs in the raffles and fish sale, none in the show as it should be.? The Europeans have disallowed wild caught entries for a long time to my understanding.

Marge

That's the jest of this point... Wild caught killies are not allowed in
the show... Now as to my opinion.. i think thats stupid. Ever seen
wild fish when they come in..... fins nipped, torn and such on alot of
them... the idea of housing them, getting them in great shape, having
fins back to where they should be, show worthy fish, would be at the
hands of the person showing the fish, not necessarily the wild fish
itself. So why not allow wild fish in the show, I agree with Ron S.
that we should be allowed to show wild fish..... who really cares if
they're wild or not?? They're killifish..... thats the real important
thing, great looking fish should never be discouraged due to where they
were born....

Ok, Off my box now....
