[Killietalk] Debruyn Filters - post from Henri Debruyn

Henri Debruyn sent a post about the filter setups with 8 images so it was too large to post. I will repost for him with it split into several messages.

Hi Charles
on killietalk and in your SKS magazine I saw that in the US there are people who need info on constructing them
I simplified the filters to really the bare minimum on work involved
I will add the photo's of the last filters I have been making based on the use of round pvc tubing cut in half with a jigsaw and made to the lenght needed for the tanks and with lips for the support of the filter on the tanks. As sidings I am using plastic insect screen glued on the side with pvc glue. Some small holes in the botom and a bigger hole where you want it for the vertical tubing (outer tube 10 mm inner tube 5 mm) giving you the optimal water lift.
Adding a bottle top with a 4mm hole in it avoiding the water splashing and a protection on the botom of the tube avoiding fish to be caught in the tube finishes the filter construction .
filling the filter with lavarock (1/2 inch size) is all you need
greetings Henri
