Re: [Killietalk] sex

I have had some minor experience with two elberte locations. Foumban
results were almost always female fry. This happened when bred, incubated
and raised at about 68 F, when bred at 68 F and incubated and hatched at
74 F. With the Kekemense, when bred and raised at 68 F- All males. When
bred incubated and raised at 76 F fairly even ratio. So far I cannot seem to
get the Foumban to breed at 74 F so I don't know what will happen there. A
few years ago I did get some Foumban to give me some males at the warmer
temperature though.
With ogoense GHP 80-24, I raised and incubated some at 72 F and got nothing
but females. I bred and raised some at 68 F and got mostly males but now
get a more even ratio. With GHP 80-23, I got exactly the opposite results,
females when cold and males when warm.
A. zygaima when kept warm they breed well but yield predominately males
unless bred in very soft water and incubated and raised cool, again I used
about 68 degrees. I tried breeding them at that temperature but did not get
eggs from the pairs unless warmer.
