Speaking of old lines.... i never see anyone listing or showing N Rubripinnis KTZ 85/28, is that still around? It was my first notho i ever spawned around 13 years ago..... loved that fish.. wouldnt mind reacquiring it and maintaining it again.
The KTZ 85-28 population of N. aff. rubripinnis is still present in the UK
and probably in other parts of Europe but I have not seen or heard of it in
the AKA for some time.
However, there is another population (the only other known population) that
is widespread in the AKA, and that is: N. aff. rubripinnis Lisinjiri River
TAN 97-27. It is not much different to the KTZ 85-28 population and both
come from the Mbwemkuru River basin, the Lisinjiri being a tributary of that
system.
All the fish of the TAN 97-27 population presently in the hobby stem from a
single pair that I brought back to Canada after we collected them in
Tanzania in 1997. We could find only one female and a couple of males. It is
a gorgeous Notho and quite prolofic.
