Re: [Killietalk] Hatching Notho eggs

Hi Ed

Look at it this way eggs are wet by rain and as the pond !! starts to dry up the water becomes more alkaline.
Done it this way for years only problem is that the rain water in the winter can be solid but if the temp is about 60 f when it`s used no trouble.
Just let the rain water temp rise before use , but I must admit as long as it`s not too cold I still use it.

Hi all, I'm relatively new to Nothos. My question is: Why is it suggested
that the eggs be hatched in rain water while the adults are kept in hard
alkaline water? Thank you all in advance for any answers.
