...seriously tho...you can see similar color patterns in Rivs & aphys, dunno
if that's a convergent evolution thing or just dormant genes being
"recalled" from the past as required...
...and your question begs the question how do nothos get from one pool to
another (or isolated in a pool)...was it flooding, drying, birds or all the
above

Brian,

Do you know how many years ago the different Nothos shared a common
ancestor?  Some of the fish we've seen over the last couple of days look
pretty similar.  I wonder if the genetic drift from their common ancestor
has been pretty recent.
