Re: [Killietalk] New to killies!
Charlon,
Looks like you almost got lost in the fray of posts.
Separate tanks will work great. Assuming you get your water for your tanks
from the same source, and you do somewhat regular water changes, the water
should be close enough to the same in both tanks to not worry about. It is
nice to be able to use a common filter for several compartments, though.
Just be sure small fish can't get through the dividers keeping the
compartments separate. I use both ways myself.
I guess I'm saying both are good approaches. Do what is most convenient for
you.
Keith

Subject: [Killietalk] New to killies!
Hi,
I am just getting into the world of killies, and I'm getting a couple of
species at the moment. I'm also setting up my fishroom, and would like you
to share any ideas about tanks for housing killies.
What do you think would be the best method, eg: small 10ltrs tanks for
breeding and a bigger one for rearing the fry ( 2 seperate tanks) or a 30ltr
tank with a seperator, having the same sitaution as the previous setup, but
having common water ( ie: only one heater needed, fry having same water
parameters throughout growing stage) or a 4 feet aquarium, seperated into
different smaller tanks, for breeding and rearing, where filtration can be
done by a sump?
Or any other method available that I don't know about?
Thanks, waiting to read your replies.
