Re: [Killietalk] Question
This discussion is not a new issue. I can remember when I was Chairman of the
BOT and the idea was first presented. The BOT was provided with a sample
issue by Barry Cooper which was outstanding n quality and usability. Other
volunteers were asked but none provided examples of their craft. It was a no-brainer
to award the "contract" to Barry. Unforeseen circumstances have delayed the
project, to my dismay, but there was no viable alternative in 2000 when it was
started. Now, I must admit, since my BOT term was finished I have not been
privy to any business since then, so other proposals may have been presented,
tested and rejected. There is no doubt that a readable, printable and searchable
version is the goal. Exact match in format and pictures may be less than
perfect and many folks will be satisfied. I have scanned many articles in JAKA for
my own use and for sharing some of my own articles with others and I can
testify that a JPEG image is generally unsatisfactory. I also would like to point
out that searching of the articles is not always necessary since that can be
done for titles with the JAKA Index that I provide at the AKA website.
