Hi Dr. Eversman,  The picture of that incident is in Shultz and Axelrod,
Handbook of Tropical Fish published around 1956. Axelrod is looking down
at a frying pan with 3 or 4 fried discus (large adults) in it held by the
native guide/cook. This book had a lot of "plagiarized" sketches of fish,
enhanced with color, which Inanes brought to court and won the case. Mr.
Alan Fl etcher was Inanes' editor at the time ( The Aquarium magazine).
This is early history but shows you ,early on, how Dr. Axelrod worked.
