Re: [Killietalk] fish for food!

I once saw a open fish market in the phillipines with tricandia clams,
angelfish, et et that by my estimate was worth thousands of dollars alive...
...any Salt water Aquarist would be sick at the (albeit tasty) carnage

Subject: [Killietalk] fish for food!

I have eaten at one time or another, and in one place or another, the
following
species:

1. Fundulus heteroclitus (yuck!)
2. Fundulus majalis (double yuck!)
3. Goodea atripinnis (ok fried and breaded but had to eat too many to make
a
meal)
4. Prochilodus sp (excellent)
5. oscars (bleah...)
6. discus (bleah...)
7. C. festivum (bleah...)
8. three species of piranha, mixed (excellent fried with butter)
9. C. severum (ok, pretty tasteless though)
10. "Tilapia" from Lake Natron (ok)
11. Mixed Tilapia and probably some haplochromines from Lake Victoria (ok)

What's the big deal?
