My preference for a hatching vessel is a plastic wide mouth jar so I can 
scrub t out every time I restock it. Plastic so it is unbreakable. I have broken 
too many round bottom flasks in 50 years plus as a chemist. Adequate cover at 
top and sufficient air supply makes the shape irrelevant.
