I have the same problem of eggs sticking to the sides above the 
waterline. I simply use a baster to draw up some hatching brine and 
flush the eggs back down. I do that a variable time after setting them 
up, depending on what I'm doing, where, and when. I will sometimes flush 
them down a couple of times.
