I have read, numerous times on KillieTalk, about the practice of soaking
brine shrimp eggs in freshwater before placing them in the saltwater for
hatching.

What is the basis for doing this ? I would be interested to know that and if
there is a logical reason what the experimental basis for it is.

I am not being facetious, I genuinely would like to know because I never do
this and always get outstanding hatches from my brine shrimp eggs. I am left
wondering if there is any advantage in pre-soaking the eggs.
