Re: [Killietalk] Why is frozen (adult) brine shrimp considered a"worthless food"

Frozen brine shrimp are a great food if they are handled properly,
apparently in your case the place that you buy them from has a good delivery
system. Better than half of the shops that carry brine shrimp in the Indy
area sell frozen brine that at times is black from being thawed and
refrozen. Often the stuff is delivered in 90 degree weather from Chicago in
un refrigerated trucks a long with the fish, the drivers stock the dealers
freezer and by the he gets to it the fish are put away the brine is refrozen
then some jerk like me comes along and buys it for $12.00 a lb. and when it
is thawed it looks like mush with few if any whole shrimps. So watch what
you buy the pet shops are there tot make a buck and do not care what they
sell because dumb me has no where else to go, so they think. I get my frozen
brine 50 lbs at a time and pick it up at the air port where it is still
solid as a rock.
