Hi Guys, No one ever mentions the room/ shelf temperature at which the
eggs are kept, either?? All life depends on available oxygen and with
water incubated eggs; too cold slows rate of development even though
there is ample oxygen; too warm speeds up rate of development while the
oxygen content of the water will be lowered. Obviously Dr. Eversman had
the perfect bacteria free water and right temperature for his water
collected GAR.
Working with Poropanchax (LUX) eggs I collect hundreds and treat
them exactly as I hatch brine shrimp eggs except with fresh water not
1.023 salt water. Talk about a prolific fish ( lampeye)! They start to
approach annual productivity. Not so with Procatapus ( ABR, SIM, NOT).
What a struggle with that Genus.
