Cool! I've always wanted to try one but after hearing about their
reputation(and seeing their price tag) I shied away.

I did grow an A. crispus and it lasted for a long time...in fact it is
probably still alive somewhere. It never reproduced for me though. An
A. undulatus bulb I purchased for 3 dollars grew into a massive plant.
Then it flowered, died back, and dissapeared. Man that was one purty
plant while it lasted. I wonder if they perhaps live in similar
habitats as our annual killies and survive the dry season in this
manner.
