Re: [Killietalk] air exchanger heat exchanger

To Rich and all else: I. too , experienced excessive humidity and the
associated odors in my basement fishroom. A friend made his own fan to solve
his fishroom problems, and just as I was about to follow suit, another
fishkeeper alerted me to the following. Both he and I bought the Aqualight
Cooling Fan Kit from Drs. Foster and Smith, ( DrsFosterSmith.com ). It is
the 4 3/4 " 67 CFM, item #ABQ-22939, for $23.99, in their catalog. Although
designed to cool off Fish Tank Light strips, when placed in the wall, it
removes odors and humidity to the outside. The mini-transformer steps down
the electric power to 12volts. The electric usage is not even noticeable! It
is quiet and can be switched off or on to run continually. I bought a
plastic cover flap from Home Depot to cover the outside hole I drilled in
the house framing, just above my basement concrete foundation. The fan kit
contains a screen and grill to help prevent "critters" from entering from
outside. It was an easy and inexpensive fix to my problem. Hope this helps
others.
