In fact, my water tests as containing chloramines, despite the fact the water 
company denies it. The good news is they are able to use less (1-2 ppm) of it 
than when they used free chlorine and therefore my carbon filter lasts 
longer. It also works the same as chlorine in disinfecting eggs, without harm to the 
egg, but kills the fry. Other folks claim it does not hurt the fry, nut they 
may be dealing with free chlorine which will dissipate..
