Re: [Killietalk] Acriflavine - how much? what concentration?

Joe:

Could tell us what amout of each of these is in your mix? For example,
  a) how many drops of methyl blue per gallon (or liter)?
  b) how many drops of acriflavine per gallon (or liter)?

  Thank you,

I usually don't use acriflavine by itself, usually in combo with a
small amount of methyl blue. Mogens had mentioned this combo when I was
trying to figure out to be successful with A. joergensheeli. It worked
for those eggs and I have been using it in combo for all non-annual eggs
 ever since.

Hello again,

A few peole ask me what concentration of acriflavine I was using in
my water incubation. It is very simple. I take a gallon milk jug full of
de-chlorinated water and add about 2 or 3 drops straight from the
bottle. It doesn't take much at all. In fact it you wanted to you could
probably get away with just a drop. You want your water to be slightly
tinted yellow. One bottle of this stuff will last you a really long time.
Be careful though because anything that you get this stuff on will be
 stained yellow, including your fingers!!!
