Re: [Killietalk] Acriflavine - how much? what concentration?

I usually don't use acriflavine by itself, usually in combo with a small amount of methyl blue. Mogens had mentioned this combo when I was trying to figure out to be successful with A. joergensheeli. It worked for those eggs and I have been using it in combo for all non-annual eggs ever since.

Hello again,

A few peole ask me what concentration of acriflavine I was using in my water incubation. It is very simple. I take a gallon milk jug full of de-chlorinated water and add about 2 or 3 drops straight from the bottle. It doesn't take much at all. In fact it you wanted to you could probably get away with just a drop. You want your water to be slightly tinted yellow. One bottle of this stuff will last you a really long time. Be careful though because anything that you get this stuff on will be stained yellow, including your fingers!!!
