Re: [Killietalk] Non-Live Fish Foods
All of my fish get various prepared food in the morning before work.
Spirulina flake, NLS Growth formula, and a general flake from BSD but
I don't remember what it is. Beef Heart flake maybe. I use a mortar
and pestle to grind the combination of these foods up for my fry. Fry
also get freeze dried cyclopeeze, golden pearls, and decap BS eggs.
Adults get a rotation of the whole flakes. I have used the cyclopeeze
as well, and it works well. All of my fish ate it and liked it, but
the wafers are quite expensive. Tetra has a cyclopeeze flake out now
and it's affordable, but it's not 100% cyclopeeze like the cyclopeeze
wafer is.
I've found that if you start feeding fry ground flakes daily, as
adults they will accept most prepared foods.
Evening feeding is blackworms, redworms, bbs, and frozen foods like
bloodworms and mysis.

The problem with NLS is that if not careful (eg. over feeding), it could possibly pollute the water as it is very nutrient rich. For more eggs production, I just feed them more with frozen bloodworms and/or pellets. I have been feeding this pellet for the past 2 years. I've not feed any live food to my killifish.
